Kathmandu, July 02: Two children were diagnosed with the swine flu virus in Nepal on Thursday, taking the number of persons infected with the AH1N1 virus to five in the country.

"A five-year-old boy and a 6-months-old girl got infected when they came in contact with a non-resident Nepali couple and their son, already infected with the virus," Senendra Raj, a ministry of health official, told reporters.

The kids are relatives of the trio.

Doctors administering treatment to the non-resident family though say it has now fully recovered.

Meanwhile, Nepal government has issued an alert for the swine flu and health teams have been stationed at the country's only international airport and various checkpoints on Nepal-India border. Rapid response teams have been stationed to conduct tests and vigilance has been stepped up for symptoms of the flu on border points.

The government has also stockpiled medicines to start treatment and people have been told to adopt precautionary measures.
