Two policemen injured in blast in northwest Pak

Police cordoned off the site of the blast and launched a search operation.

Islamabad: Two policemen, including an
officer, were injured when a bomb blast targeted a police
vehicle in northwest Pakistan on Sunday, officials said.

The blast hit the vehicle of Deputy Superintendent of
Police Abdul Ghafoor while he was on a routine patrol in Dera
Ismail Khan city of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.

Ghafoor and a policeman were injured, officials said.

The injured policemen were taken to a nearby hospital.

Police cordoned off the site of the blast and launched a
search operation.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
