Kathmandu: UN Women Nepal, the world
body`s key agency for boosting gender equality and women
empowerment in the country, aims to step up efforts to
eliminate discrimination against females here.

elimination and discrimination against women and girls,
empowerment of women, achievement of equality between women
and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human
rights, humanitarian action and peace and security, she said
at a press meet organized to bid farewell to UNIFEM.
UN Women, which was created by General Assembly in
July to accelerate progress in meeting the needs of women
worldwide, will be operational from January 1 that would
coordinate all activities related to promoting women’s rights
and welfare by the world body.
