Unidentified gunmen shot dead five policemen in the restive Balochistan province of southwest Pakistan, officials said.

Islamabad: Unidentified gunmen shot dead
five policemen, including an officer, in the restive
Balochistan province of southwest Pakistan, officials said
on Wednesday.

The chief of Dera Allahyar police station, Ali Nawaz
Khosa, and four policemen were killed by the gunmen in Mach
area of Bolan district last night.

The attackers surrounded Khosa`s vehicle and fired
indiscriminately, officials said.

Two constables were killed instantly.

The attackers took the three other policemen to a spot
some kilometres away and gunned them down.

The Deputy Commissioner of Jhal Magsi district,
Shaukat Marghzani, was kidnapped last night from the same area
where the policemen were attacked.

The official was travelling to Quetta when he was
abducted by unidentified men.

No group has claimed responsibility for the
kidnapping.
