US intelligence official claims Pak's safe havens to LeT key irritant in relations with India

Director of United States National Intelligence has claimed that Pakistan`s provision of safe havens to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) will continue to be the key irritant in the country`s relations with India.

Karachi: Director of United States National Intelligence has claimed that Pakistan`s provision of safe havens to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) will continue to be the key irritant in the country`s relations with India.

According to the Express Tribune, James Clapper`s statement came in a testimony on "World Threat Assessment of the US Intelligence Community".

Clapper said, presenting the report in a hearing of the US Senate Armed Services Committee that Pakistan will most likely focus on diminishing the capabilities of the Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) that launched the attack on a school in Peshawar that left over a 100 children dead.

The testimony also said that Pakistan will aim to build positive rapport with the new Afghan government.

Talking about Pakistan`s economy, Clapper said that the country will implement some new economic reforms.
