US with Pak in struggle against violent extremism: Clinton

Promising to work towards a stronger relationship with Pak, Hillary has said US is committed to stand with people of Pak in their fight against extremism.

Washington: Promising to work towards a
stronger relationship with Pakistan, Secretary of State
Hillary Clinton on Friday said the US is committed to stand with
the people of the country in their fight against extremism.

Congratulating the people of Pakistan on the occasion
of their Independence Day, Clinton said, "On this historic
occasion, let me reaffirm the commitment of the US to stand
with Pakistanis in their struggle against violent extremism."

Clinton is looking forward to visit Pakistan in the
fall. The US will continuing to work toward a stronger
relationship with both the Government of Pakistan and its
people, Clinton said.

"On behalf of the people of the United States, I send
best wishes and congratulations to the people of Pakistan as
they mark their Independence Day," she said.

"Today, as Pakistanis around the world celebrate the
freedom their nation gained on this day in 1947, they can take
pride in their rich history and accomplishments, and in the
words and vision of Mohammed Ali Jinnah, the Quaid-e-Azam,
whose efforts to bring unity, faith and discipline to the
people of Pakistan resulted in the creation of a great
nation," Clinton said.
