Kathmandu: 68-year-old Durga Kami from Nepal is making news these days. The father of six and grandfather of eight has been hogging the limelight after some media houses brought to fore his amazing and inspiring story.
He lives alone in a hilltop and goes to school with his 14- and 15-year-old classmates. With the help of his walking stick, the Nepali grandfather daily undertakes an hour long journey to reach his school.
He belongs to a poor family and was not able to complete his education during his childhood. But now he wants to achieve his goal of becoming a teacher in the near future.
At present he is studying in tenth standard and his classmates address him as 'Ba', which means 'father'.
Besides wanting to complete his studies, Kami goes to school as he wants to get rid of his loneliness, which he inherited after his wife's death.
Despite his old age, he takes parts in almost all extra curriculum activities.
He aspires to study till his last breath and wants his story to become an inspiration for all who want to study, with age not being a factor.
