Wife of former provincial minister abducted in Pak

Unidentified armed men have abducted the wife of a former Pakistani provincial minister from the minority Parsi community who himself is missing for over a decade.

over a decade.

Nilofar Abadan, the wife of former provincial
minister Faridoon Abadan, was abducted by armed men in
Quivery Road area of Quetta in northwest Pakistan yesterday.
Her husband was kidnapped over 10 years ago and remains
missing till date.

Nilofar, a businesswoman, was going to Quivery Road to
visit Quetta Distillery, owned by her husband, when the armed
men took her away.
DIG (Operations) Hamid Shakeel said the armed men
intercepted Nilofar`s car near Gurdat Singh Chowk and
kidnapped her. Her car was found abandoned at Al Gilani Road.

Shakeel said it was the first instance of the abduction
of a businesswoman in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan
province.
Police have launched a search operation to trace her. A
police official said over 20 suspects were detained during the
search operation and raids in different parts of Quetta.

Teams of law enforcement agencies were sent to the
interior area of Balochistan to trace Nilofar.

Nilofar had been looking after her missing husband`s
business since his kidnapping.
