Lahore: Zohra Yusuf was today re-elected as the Chairperson of Human Rights Commission of Pakistan while Advocate Kamran Arif was named Co-chairperson for the 2014-2016 term.
The election was held here at the annual meeting of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP).
Advocate Tahir Husain Khan for Balochistan, Advocate Sher Mohamamd Khan for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Nazish Ataullah for Punjab and Asad Iqbal Butt for Sindh - were elected as the Vice-chairpersons.
Salima Hashmi was named as the commission`s Treasurer.
Noted activist Asma Jahangir, Hina Jilani, Dr Mehdi Hassan, Air Marshal Zafar A Chaudhry, Advocate Zahoor Ahmad Shahwani, Joseph Francis, Inder Ahuja and Roland de Souza among others were elected as the members of the HRCP council (Governing body)
