NASA`s Curiosity Rover successfully crosses "Dingo Gap" dune

New Delhi: NASA`s Curiosity Mars rover has finally climbed up the Martian sand dune dubbed as "Dingo Gap" on February 9. A post on Curiosity Rover`s Twitter account read, “I`m over the moon that I`m over the dune! I successfully crossed the "Dingo Gap" sand dune on Mars”. The rover covered 135 feet (41.1 meters) on February 9, in its first drive since the 23-foot (7-meter) crossing of the dune on February 6. Curiosity rover successfully landed on Aeolis Palus in Gale Crater on Mars on August 6, 2012 to determine habitable zones on the surface of the Red Planet. Curiosity is currently headed for a target site called the "KMS-9" which is surrounded by terrains.
