Wijk Aan Zee (The Netherlands): World
champion Viswanathan Anand failed to replicate his superb form
of the last few rounds as he drew his final game in the 'A'
group against Loek van Wely of Holland to finish joint fourth
in the Corus Chess tournament here.

of Russia and Alexei Shirov of Spain, tried his best with

and the game was eventually drawn.

after a hard fought draw with Italian prodigy Fabiano Caruana
in his final round game.
Carlsen finished with 8.5 points, half a point more than

lost to Anand in the second half of the tournament.

Sergei Tiviakov of the Netherlands in the final round, tied
for the fourth spot on 7.5 points apiece.

the last round over Zhaoqin Peng of the Netherlands. Chao
finished with 10 points out of a possible 13 and will get

of the Netherlands.

girls' champion Soumya Swaminathan lost her eighth game in the
tournament and finished at the bottom along with local player

Russian, announced his arrival in to big league by winning the
'B' group with awesome ease.
