Dola makes World Cup final cut Kolkata: Olympian Dola Banerjee on Wednesday made the cut for the Archery World Cup Final after Chinese Guo Faping pulled out for the premier event to be held in Edinburgh from September 18-19.

Dola, who had won the World Cup Final in Dubai in 2007, joined reigning cadet world champion Deepika Kumari in the women's recurve section.

Jayanta Talukdar will once again represent India in the men's recurve section. Talukdar had played the final in 2006 and 2009 but failed to win the top place.

According to information received here, wild cards have been given to Al Wills in recurve men, Naomi Folkard (recurve women), Chris White (compound men) and Andrea Gales in compound women section.

The archers had four World Cup stages in Porec (Croatia), Antalya (Turkey), Ogden (USA) and Shanghai (China) to gather points in the World Cup ranking.

Only the top three results counted and a tie in the final ranking would be broken by the FITA World Ranking.

After Shanghai, the top seven in the World Cup ranking qualified for the World Cup Final in Edinburgh.
