FIA warns new F1 teams not to miss any races New York: New Formula One teams US F1 and Campos would be breaching regulations if they were not ready in time for the season-opening race in Bahrain on March 14, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) said on Wednesday.

With the newcomers yet to complete their driver lineups or test, FIA President Jean Todt had said the Concorde Agreement which governs the sport allowed teams to miss three races.

However, the FIA has issued a clarification without specifying if sanctions would follow if a team misses a race.

"From a sporting and regulatory point of view, each team that has registered for the championship is obliged to take part in every event of the season," an FIA statement said.

"Any failure to take part, even for just one championship event, would constitute an infringement both of the Concorde Agreement and the FIA regulations."
