Gangjee tied 10th after Rd3 of Malaysian Open Kuala Lumpur: Rahil Gangjee rode on a blemishfree front-nine – studded with four birdies and an eagle – to turn in the day’s best card of six-under 66 and grab a share of the 10th spot after the penultimate round of the Maybank Malaysian Open here on Saturday.

Gangjee’s two-day total stood at seven-under 209 after he struck seven birdies and an eagle against a bogey and a double bogey. He was in blistering form in the first half as he struck back-to-back birdies followed by an eagle on the par-five fifth hole.

A couple of more birdies on the seventh and eighth hole left him six-under at the turn.

After making the turn, he gained a stroke on the 10th and 12th to make it eight-under. It was an eventful end to the day’s proceedings for Gangjee as he stumbled to a bogey on the 16th, found a birdie on the 17th before signing off rather disappointingly with a double bogey on the 18th.

Among other Indians, Gaganjeet Bhullar (70) and Kolkata-pro S S P Chowrasia (72) were the next best-placed at tied 25th with totals of three-under 213.

Arjun Atwal had a horrendous day, carding a three-over 75 to slip to tied 44th with a total of even-par 216. C Muniyappa was further down at tied 56th after carding a second successive 72 that left his overall total at one-over 217.

Digvijay Singh was the lowest-placed Indian at tied 68th after returning a 75 to total three-over 219. At the top, Kiradech Aphibranrat (68) and Rhys Davies (71) shared the lead at 11-under 205.
