Major Dhyanchand Stadium, New Delhi: It would be a clash between German strategy and the great Australian flair in the hockey world cup finals at New Delhi’s national stadium.
Germany, the defending champions have prove to be the fittest in this World Cup. They have shown what total hockey is all about.
Solid defence, lightning quick counter-attacks and great field game, the Germans have been simply awesome. In two years time, this Germany had a four-one win against England in the first semis.
On the other hand, Australia's men's hockey team has beaten the Netherlands two-one in the World Cup semi-finals in New Delhi.
Luke Doerner and Glenn Turner scored on either side of half-time for Australia, before the Dutch got a late goal to narrow the margin.
The Kookaburras' opponent in the final will be Germany, which had a four-one win against England.
It will be the third time in a row the two sides have met in the decider, with Germany winning the past two World Cups in 2002 and 2006.
