Barcelona: Inter and Barcelona will meet in the group stage of this season’s UEFA Champions League, after last night’s draw saw them both pooled into Group F alongside Dynamo Kiev and Rubin Kazan.
In what promises to be an intriguing group, the captain of the Nerazzurri, Javier Zanetti, is pleased with the chance to play against the Spanish giants - and to face a certain Swedish striker who recently moved to Camp Nou.
“It’s a challenging group, but in this competition all of the matches are difficult,” Zanetti stated.
“We are happy to be playing Barcelona, especially because we can play against [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic, who I’m sure will be looking forward to playing us as well.”
“They will be difficult opponents, but I’m sure that we will rise to the occasion and do well when the time comes.”
The Argentinean continued by light-heartedly suggesting that he wants to mark Lionel Messi when the two sides meet.
He continued, “I will take Messi against Barcelona! I have a great relationship with him, but hopefully I don’t have to do this.
“As I said earlier, our group is very demanding and it won’t be easy to play in Russia and Ukraine, due to the difficult weather conditions.”
