New Delhi: Beijing Olympics quarterfinalist
and World Cup bronze medallist boxer Akhil Kumar has signed up
with sports management firm Infinity Optimal Solutions.
"Infinity Optimal Solutions, India's leading Sports and
Leisure Management Company has embarked upon a new venture by
signing up two new faces from the boxing fraternity, Akhil
Kumar amateur boxer and Pradeep Singh (75kg) India's only
professional boxer," IOS, which had lost Olympic bronze
medallist Vijender Singh to Percept Sports Management some
weeks ago, said in a statement.
IOS will coordinate the duo's endorsements, media
activities, rights and brand management.
"I am happy to be associated with IOS which has helped
boxing grow in India over the years. IOS would be looking
after my commercial interest and I feel that being with the
experts will help me grow more," said Akhil, who is currently
in South Africa undergoing rehabilitation for an injured
wrist.
"It's a privilege to be associated with IOS. We share a
common passion which is boxing. The company is bringing boxing
to the homes of every Indians. I am glad to be the part of
such an organization which is reaching out to promote boxing,"
added Pradeep.
Hailing from Haryana, Pradeep was picked by a visiting
Australian scout and taken to Australia, where he has been
fighting in the professional circuit.
"We are happy to announce our association with Pradeep
and Akhil. Both have huge potential in their respective
discipline and passion, as we share for giving people the best
in both amateur and professional boxing. We would be working
towards positioning athletes as brands and target the right
groups for endorsement, rights and licenses," said IOS CEO
Neerav Tomar.
