Kolkata: Vishnu Vardhan will be the star
attraction in the USD 10,000 ITF Men's Futures to be held at
the newly built hard courts of the Pailan World School Academy
from Monday.
Run by former Davis Cup captain Jaidip Mukerjea, the
academy will be hosting its first competitive event.
The Futures draw will be having a host of Indian names,
most of which are part of the Commonwealth Games probables.
Apart from Vardhan, who is ranked 383 in the world, the
others include Rohan Gajjar, V.M. Ranjeet, Rupesh roy,
Vijayant Malik, Ashutosh Singh, Vivek Shokeen and Yannick
Nellord.
The singles winner will get 12 ATP points while the
runner-up 8 points. The point system remains the same in the
doubles, but will be shared by the pair.
