Ludhiana: JCT beat Mumbai FC 1-0 to gain
full three points in a round 17 I-League match at Guru Nanak
Stadium here today.
The all important goal came in the 55th minute through a
header by E Okuru.
The visitors had a close shave in the 25th minute when
Sakatar Singh's blistering shot flew over the crossbar, much
to the relief of the Mumbai outfit.
In the second half, JCT's Jaspal Singh weaved a fine
move, gave a pass to N Hennary who sent the ball into the net
with a powerful grounder. However, the referee denied the
goal, declaring Hennary off side.
After 17 matches, JCT have collected 22 points while
Mumbai FC from as many matches have secured 19 points.
