Pakistan`s retired hockey captain eyeing comeback Karachi: Less than a month after retiring from international hockey following Pakistan's catastrophic last-place finish in the World Cup in New Delhi, former skipper Zeeshan Ashraf has shown his willingness to make a comeback for major events like the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games.

Zeeshan said Tuesday that if the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) wanted his services for the sake of national hockey he would reconsider his decision to retire.

Zeeshan said Pakistan has to feature in major events this year and drastic changes in the national team could affect the team's showing in the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi in October and the Asian Games in China in November.

The seasoned defender said he can even play in the national team as an ordinary player.

"It the PHF thinks that I can contribute to the team then I can reconsider my retirement decision," Ashraf was quoted as saying in Urdu daily Express.
