Milan: Inter midfielder Thiago Motta has sent a warning shot to former employers Barcelona ahead of their Champions League showdown next week.
The Nerazzurri welcome the European champions to the San Siro next Wednesday, but a party is unlikely. Zlatan Ibrahimovic will return to his former home, while both Motta and Samuel Eto'o face their old colleagues. The midfielder believes his side can hold their own against Pep Guardiola's men.
"Inter will have the support of the San Siro, and we are ready to face this difficult match," Motta is quoted as saying.
"We need to be at our best in order to better them. Eto'o is our weapon, but we also have other players who can decide this game, and I am hopeful."
Motta has promised to feature, despite a minor muscular strain he picked up during the derby defeat.
"I cannot miss such an important game. I had a little set-back recently, but it seems to have gone. I will be there against Barcelona," concluded the midfielder.
