Ludhiana: JCT survived a scare against
Salgaocar SC Goa as they played out a 1-1 draw in an I-League
15th round match at Guru Nanak Stadium here on Wednesday.
Both the teams wasted a couple of scoring chances in the
first session.
The visitors missed a penalty kick just few seconds
before the half time with R Samieinia's feeble attempt was
saved by JCT goalkeeper Karanjeet Singh.
JCT surged ahead in the 48th minute through a header by
their foreign recruit N Hennery. The Goan outfit scored the
equaliser in the 69th minute when E Fernandes gave a parallel
pass to E M Ikenwa who sent an angular header into the net
(1-1).
With this draw, JCT have secured 18 points to remain at
10th while Salgaocar have collected 15 points to maintain
their 12th position on the points table.
JCT now will take on Mohan Bagan on March 15 here.
