Salgaocar signs striker Mandjou Keita of Guinea Margao: To sharpen their striking edge, Salgaocar has signed Keita Manjdou of Guinea, who is set to play upfront against JCT tomorrow, provided his international transfer certificate arrives in time.

Keita, who was the top scorer in the United States' second division football league ULS and was on loan from the Portland Timbers, has already started training with the team.

The new recruit is expected to partner Nigerian striker Eneke Ikenwa, giving more teeth to Salgaocar's attack which was looking blunt.

Keita, 30, began his professional career in Malaysia when he signed for Perak FA in 2004 and impressed on debut itself.

He later went on to win the Golden Boot award for the 2006 season, scoring 17 goals but was unlucky not to have won the Favourite Import Player Award despite being among the three nominated footballers.

"Keita was once the top scorer in the Malaysian league and he was the top scorer in the league in the US this season. So we are very confident he will do well in India. Being an African, he should be able to adapt very quickly to Indian conditions," coach Tim Hankinson said.
