New Delhi: The Hokcey India today decided
not to bring in any replacement of Mohammed Aslam Khan, who
recently quit the Secretary General's post, protesting "murky
politics" in the Federation.
The Hockey India President A K Mattoo said the ad-hoc
body would manage without a Secretary General at least for
some period.
"We had a meeting of Hockey India members today. As of
now, we will not appoint anyone for the Secretary General's
post and ad-hoc members will share the workload for the time
being," Mattoo told agency.
Mattoo also acknowledged the ongoing tussle between
Sports Authority of India (SAI) and Jose Brasa over the
purchase of some equipments demanded by the national coach.
Brasa had alleged that he had asked for basic equipments
like laptops, GPS software, soft balls and heart-rate
monitoring machine but all he got was just promises.
"It seems that there are some problems going on between
Brasa and SAI. As far as Brasa is concerned, I had a
discussion with a number of HI officials today. It was decided
that I will personally meet Brasa and all the players in Pune
soon," he said.
SAI Joint Secretary and Special Officer for Commonwealth
Games Pravir Krishn has blamed the delay on lukewarm response
from the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM).
Mattoo hoped that his personal visit would help sort out
the matter.
"I personally want to understand Brasa's role and how
comfortable the boys are feeling in the camp. Personally I
feel no issue would be a problem. We are sure that we will
work it out," Mattoo said.
