Rabat: A nightmarish day in the
greens saw SSP Chowrasia turn in a four-over 77 to finish tied
56th after the final round of the Trophee Hassan II golf
tournament here.
The Kolkata pro couldn't manage a single birdie and
dropped as many as four bogeys to aggregate one-under 290, to
sign off two strokes behind compatriot Shiv Kapur, who carded
one-over 74 for the second day on the trot to finish tied 52
Nothing went right for Chowrasia on the final day as he
stumbled on a bogey in the second hole and dropped two more
strokes on the fifth and sixth to make the turn at three-over.
On resumption, he dropped another bogey on the fourth
hole to go four-over before parring the rest in the red course
at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam here.
Kapur, in comparison, had two birdies on the third and
eighth hole against bogeys at the second, fourth and seventh
hole in his front nine.
On his back nine, he picked up birdies on the 11th and
13th hole, which were negated by bogeys at 15th and 18th hole.
At the top, Welshman Rhys Davies blasted a seven-under 66
to pip South African Louis Oosthuizen (70) by two strokes on
the difficult red course with a total of 25-under 266.
The third place was shared by French Thomas Levet (71),
