New Delhi: Karnataka's Prince Thakur and
Delhi's Junaid notched up contrasting wins over their
compatriots to end Day one on a high in the Senior National
Squash Championship here today.
Thakur prevailed over Delhi-boy Siddhant Kumar 11-4 11-9
11-6 in his opening encounter in round one of the Qualifying
Draw-1, while came better off another local Raunak Garg 11-4
11-5 11-4 in round two of the Qualifying Draw-1 at the Delhi
Gymkhana courts.
Delhi-boy Junaid, playing in round one of the Qualifying
Draw-2, brushed aside the challenge of J&K-lad Muzafar Ahmed
Bhat 11-1 11-1 11-1 in 20 minutes.
In his second match, he defeated another J&K boy Hilal Ah
Shah 11-2 11-0 11-1.
