Sao Paulo: Brazilian forward Val Baiano has joined Mexican champions Monterrey as a free agent for a year, the club said in a statement.
Val Baiano, whose real name is Osvaldo Felix Souza, will fill the vacancy left by Chile striker Humberto Suazo, who has moved to Real Zaragoza.
The 28-year-old, who left Gremio Barueri in Brazil three weeks ago, has played for a string of Brazilian clubs as well as teams in Portugal and Qatar.
