Lucknow: A total of 41 nominations were today
filed by candidates of different parties for by-polls to 11
assembly and one Lok Sabha seat to be held on November 7.
"A total of 41 nominations were today filed for the
by-polls to 11 assembly and one Lok Sabha seat. With this 60
candidates are in the fray till now," a state election
official said.
Prominent among those, who filed their nominations
included Satya Pal Singh of BSP from Firozabad seat, Bukkal
Nawab (SP) from Lucknow west assembly seat and senior BSP
leader Swami Prasad Maurya from Padrauna.
The assembly seats going to polls included Shahjahanpur,
Lucknow (west), Sultanpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Kushinagar,
Varanasi, Jaunpur, Etawah, Bharthana, Lalitpur and Jhansi and
Firozabad Lok Sabha seat.
