Dharamsala: Three children were killed in a
grenade blast after they strayed into the army firing range at
Kohala village here and fiddled with a live explosive, police
said on Wednesday.
The children, two of them siblings, had entered the
firing range last afternoon and found three grenades. They
started playing with one of them and it exploded, SP Atul
Fulzele told agency.
Villagers heard the blast but thought it might be part
of the army exercise. But, when the children did not return
home till evening, a search was conducted and the bodies were
found, the police officer said.
They were identified as Sahil (13) and Rahul (12), both
brothers, and their friend Chandan (11). The three hailed from
Kohala village, about 15 km from here, police said.
The two other live grenades were defused.
