Antony's wife Elizabeth has raised funds for cancer patients
by selling her paintings.
Elizabeth, a bank manager, handed over the proceeds of
the sale of 12 paintings done by her to the Regional Cancer
Centre yesterday at a small function here. She handed over Rs
50,000 to RCC Director Paul Sebastian.
The function was organised by "Navoothan", a voluntary
organisation founded and headed by Elizabeth herself.
She has drawn 12 paintings for the RCC and they together
fetched Rs 50, 000, an official at the RCC said.
"It is an attempt to mobilise money through voluntary
work, without accepting contributions," Elizabeth said.
"Navoothan" volunteers also distributed a bag full of
toys to the cancer-affected children in the cancer centre.
