Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government
on Thursday constituted a high-powered Cabinet sub-committee to look
into various issues connected with the rehabilitation of the
surrendered extremists.
The state Finance Minister will head the committee,
which will have the ministers for revenue, home, higher
education and social welfare as members. The Principal
Secretary to government (Political) will be the convener of
the committee, according to an order issued by the Chief
Secretary P Ramakanth Reddy.
The Cabinet sub-committee will also look into the
payment of ex-gratia to the next of kin of the persons killed
in extremist violence, payment of ex-gratia for damages to the
houses and movable properties in extremist violence and
various other issues which pertain to tackling the problem of
extremism, the order issued by the Chief Secretary said.
