Auraiya murder case: Bail plea of BSP MLA rejected

Lucknow: A city court on Wednesday rejected the bail applications of BSP MLA Shekhar Tewari and three others, accused in the Auraiya engineer murder case.

Special Sessions Court Judge Virendra Kumar rejected the bail applications of BSP MLA Tewari, Vinay Tewari, Manoj Awasthi and Ram Babu, alias Puti.

Special prosecutor for the state government I B Singh said that seven prosecution witnesses have been examined so far, of which two have turned hostile.

On the intervening night of December 23 and 24, last year, Executive Engineer in the Public Works Department Manoj Kumar Gupta was killed in Dibiyapur police station in Auriya district and the BSP MLA and nine others are accused in the case.
