New Delhi: Congress today dubbed as
"ridiculous" and "comic" the lodging of an FIR by UP police in
the incident of bees invading the stage during Chief Minister
Mayawati's rally in Lucknow on Monday.
"It is really a comic situation that the Chief
Minister directs the administration to file an FIR for
conspiracy to let off a bee attack on her," AICC general
secretary in-charge for UP Digvijay Singh told reporters here.
He said nothing can be more ridiculous than a Chief
Minister asking for "lodging of an FIR against beehives and
seeing a conspiracy in it. This shows the mental status in
which Mayawati is doing politics."
After the incident, the BSP had alleged that
appearance of bees at the rally ground was a conspiracy
following which the state government ordered an inquiry.
The UP police has lodged an FIR to probe who lit the
fire that disturbed the beehive and what was the intention.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Rajiv Krishna, who
is probing into the bee invasion incident, has said that prima
facie it had been revealed that the bees swarmed Ramabai
Ambedkar rally ground during Mayawati's address after being
disturbed by smoke.
He said that the opinion of experts in bee behaviour
had also been taken.
The police are investigating into the incident as to
who lit the fire and what was the objective behind it, he
added.
