Jhargram (WB): West Bengal Home Secretary Ardhendu Sen, along with a team of senior police officers investigating the February 15 Naxal attack on Eastern Frontier Rifle (EFR) camp, on Sunday visited the site at Silda in West Midnapore.

Sen, along with ADG (CID) Raj Kanojia and IG (West) Zulfikar Hassan, inspected the camp where 24 jawans of the state paramilitary force were killed and set ablaze by Maoists.

"Sen inspected the incident site and inquired about the route which the Maoists took to raid the camp," a senior police officer said.

The officials did not speak to the media and the visit was kept under wraps by the district administration.

Sen later visited the Forest Training Centre at Jhargram and met District Magistrate Narayan Swarup Nigam, Superintendent of Police Manoj Verma and Jhargram SDO C Murugan.

The CID and a team of senior police officers, comprising Kanojia and Hassan, have been investigating the Maoist raid on the Silda camp.
