Muzaffarpur (Bihar): A Bihar court on Saturday began probe into landing of an IAF helicopter on the national highway in 2007 by RJD supremo Lalu Prasad while undertaking an aerial survey of floods without permission when he was Railway minister.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of Muzaffarpur, T Yadav reopened the complaint case filed by senior advocate Sudhir Ojha following the directive of district judge Prabhat Kumar Jha and started the inquiry.

Jha had on November 23, 2009 asked ACJM Yadav to go into the case afresh.

Sub-divisional magistrate (West), Muzaffarpur, T K Sinha had on September 5, 2009 dismissed a complaint charging Prasad of landing an IAF helicopter on the national highway.

Ojha, later, challenging the SDM's order in the court of district judge, accused Prasad and former Union minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh of landing the IAF helicopter at Maniari without permission on August 1, 2007 during a survey of the flood-affected areas in Tirhut division.
