Bhubaneswar: BJB (Autonomous) College here
was closed sine die after ten persons, including seven police
personnel were injured during a clash between two groups of
students who indulged in stone-throwing today, police said.
"In a bid to restore peace and normalcy in the campus,
the authorities closed the college sine die", its principal
Ranjit Ghosh.
A clash broke out between two groups of students over
selection of guests for the college's annual function.
While one group locked the main gate and staged a
dharna in front of the college, another group opposed it. This
led to a clash between them, police said.
As the police attempted to pacify the two groups, some of
the personnel, including DCP Himanshu Lal sustained injuries
as stones were thrown at them by the students.
Three students were injured besides the seven policemen.
