Hyderabad: The BJP in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday
released first list of 33 candidates for Greater Hyderabad
Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections scheduled to be held
on November 23.
Releasing the list, state party chief Bandaru Dattatreya
said the party was confident of winning a majority of
divisions as both Congress and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) have
failed to address the problems of the people and in providing
basic amenities in the state capital.
The party has decided to contest all the 150 divisions
in GHMC. The party has given one third representation to
women with 11 of the 33 candidates announced today being
women.
As per the schedule announced for the civic polls, the
last date for nominations is November six. The nomination
papers would be scrutinised on November seven and the last
date for withdrawal is November 10.
Elections for 150 municipal divisions would be held on
November 23 and counting would be taken up on November 26.
