Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party, which has decided to fight alone in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, today began the process of finalising its candidates for the polls.

"The BSP supremo held a meeting with senior office bearers of the party's Bihar unit and has a detailed discussion in the wake of forthcoming assembly elections in the state," a party spokesman said here.

Mayawati said that the BSP had its representation in the Bihar House from the last several years and this time the party would go all alone in the Assembly elections.

"BSP would emerge as a strong political power in Bihar in the forthcoming elections to resolve the problems of the people of the state," she said in a statement.

She directed the office-bearers to strengthen party's base in the state.

"As Bihar is adjacent to UP, BSP base has increased considerably and keeping in view the current scenario there is a strong possibility party getting good success in the assembly polls," the Chief Minister said.

The BSP supremo also directed leaders and workers to propagate party's policies and programmes in Bihar, besides highlighting the UP government's decisions taken in the interest of all sections of the society.

Leaders of Bihar unit informed Mayawati that party workers were enthusiastic and it will emerge as a strong political power in the state.
