Rajkot: Criticising Narendra Modi-led
BJP government in Gujarat for wasting money on self praise,
Congress leaders on Sunday urged people to work for Congress to
oust the government which they said has done nothing but
misled people.
Union Ministers like Sachin Pilot, Dinsha Patel and
Congress leaders of the state including opposition leader in
state assembly Shaktisinh Gohil and state unit president
Siddharth Patel today took part in the Convention organised to
mark party's 125th year.
Addressing a large gathering Minister of State for
Communications and Technology Sachin Pilot said Congress is
the only political party which believe in impartiality and is
concerned about farmers welfare.
Gohil said that Modi government has kept people of
Gujarat in fear and put BPL (below poverty line) card holders
in awkward position by holding "Garib Kalyan Mela".
Arjun Modhvadiya an MLA from Porbander said Modi has a
great skill to divert people's mind and to misguide them by
making fake claims.
Modhvadiya termed the state government as anti-farmer
saying there is no additional tax on fertilizers but Modi
government has slapped 23 per cent to 25 per cent VAT (Value
Added Tax) on fertilizers in the state.
The convention was held in Gondal town about 36 km
from here as a part of celebrations of Congress completing
125th year of its foundation.
