Hyderabad: Congress MLAs from non-Telangana
regions today extended support to tomorrow's bandh called by
the Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed to spearhead the
campaign for united Andhra Pradesh.
The party MLAs and MLCs today held a meeting here to
discuss the current crisis in the state and the January five
meeting convened by the Centre with eight recognised parties
from the state.
The legislators have decided to meet on January 10 to
discuss the outcome of the January five meeting, Government
Whip and senior Congress MLA S Sailajanath told reporters.
Meanwhile, TDP leaders from the coastal Andhra and
Rayalaseema regions also had a meeting at the party office
here to discuss the issue.
Senior TDP leader K Yerran Naidu today said the separate
Telangana demand is being raised only by those who are
politically unemployed and have vested interests.
He said TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao himself opposed
various Government Orders issued for the benefit of Telangana
when he was in Telugu Desam.
