Kolkata: Congress on Thursday attacked Chief
Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee for not taking part in the
fifth round of tripartite talks between the Centre, state and
the GJM on the Gorkhaland issue.
"It is unfortunate that the chief minister chose not to
participate in the crucial meeting and sent his two cabinet
ministers instead. Is he really interested in finding out a
solution to the Gorkhaland problem?" senior Congress leader
Manas Bhunia asked.
Bhunia, leader of Congress legislature party in the state
assembly, hoped that a solution to the demand for a separate
Gorkhaland state would be reached soon with the Centre's
intervention.
