Yavatmal: A country-made bomb exploded in
a farm of Anandnagar village under the Mahagaon Police Station
when the wheels of a bullock-cart went over it, police said
Sunday.
No loss of life has been reported due to the bomb
blast that took place on Friday evening, police said adding
that they have booked two persons-Parshram Rathod and Waman
Rathod of the same village in this connection. The intension
of the accused behind burying of the bomb on the farm track is
not yet known. The police is investigating.
The bomb was buried in the farm and the bullock-cart
has been damaged when one of its wheels went over it.
Jayantrao Kawane and his family members were returning home in
the cart after completing their farm work on Friday evening.
All of a sudden, there was a terrific blast and the
bullock-cart was badly damaged. No one in the cart got hurt in
the blast, police said.
On Saturday, Kawane's wife Mandabai Kawane lodged a
complaint in Mahagaon police station and briefed the police
about the incident. The police visited the spot and it was
found that the bomb was buried in the farm track by some
unknown miscreants.
Later police booked the duo. The villagers alleged
that such incidents had occurred earlier also but the police
took them lightly.
