Yavatmal: A lower court has rejected the bail application filed by three persons, accused of desecration of Dr Babsaheb Ambedkar's statue on January 26 at Wani.

The accused, Rajesh Meshram, Nasir Khan Sirajuddin Khan and Nilesh Parangattiwar, had moved the Additional District Court for granting them bail. However, the court turned down their application yesterday.

On the night of January 26, the accused had desecrated the statue of Dr Ambedkar to meet their personal end of shunting out the PSO of Wani who refused to dance as per their tune.

Offence was registered against the trio under sections 295, 295 (A), 253 (A), 120 (B) and 34 of the IPC and were later arrested.
