Patna: A Bihar court on Thursday took cognizance of
a chargesheet against JD(U) leader Vijay Krishna in connection
with the kidnapping and murder of his aide and transporter
Satyendra Singh.
Chief Judicial Magistrate S P Singh took cognizance
of the chargesheet and transferred the case to the trial court
for hearing.
The police had yesterday submitted the chargsheet against
Krishna, who was a RJD MP from Barh in Bihar before he
switched over to the JD(U) at the time of the Lok Sabha polls
earlier this year.
Satyendra Singh was abducted from here on May 23 and
his body was found from near the Ganga at a place under
Khajekala police station here on June 11.
After evading arrest for over two months, Krishna was
arrested from Faridabad on August 21 and was lodged in the
high-security Beur jail on the outskirts of the state capital.
Krishna's son Guddu, also named in the case, is still
absconding.
