Behrampore (WB): Culling of flu-affected chickens has begun at Khargram and Nabagram areas in Murshidabad district on Friday morning after hundreds of the birds died in the past few days.

The district magistrate, Parvez A. Siddiqui, said samples of dead birds were earlier sent to a laboratory in Bhopal where the disease had been confirmed.

The chief medical officer of the district, Subhas Mondol, said extra beds had been set up at hospitals at Khargram and Kandi in case the disease spread among humans.

Culling of opposite party workers/members and general people of West Bengal are started from 40 years back that should be stopped immediately. Central Gov must look into the matter. Culling of flu-affected chickens is eye wash. Big poltry farms are trying to capture the market fully under their control.
