New Delhi: The Delhi High Court today
expressed displeasure over the slow process of inducting
low-floor buses in the national capital and asked the state
government to file a status report on it.
"Why the buses have not been acquired? The speed of
acquiring buses is very slow," a Bench comprising Chief Justice
A P Shah and Justice S Muralidhar said while directing the
government to file a status report on the acquisition of
the buses by the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC).
The Court had earlier had directed the government to
finalise the tender process for low-floor buses so that more
new buses will replace the Blueline buses on the capital's
roads.
The Court had passed the order after it took into
cognisance on its own a series of accidents, involving
Blueline buses resulting in the death of several people here.
