Bhopal: Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh on Monday had a dig at Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for saying that the 'Rangdari tax' would not be taken from industrialists who propose to set up their ventures in the state.

"Chouhan must explain to the people what this 'Rangdari tax' is all about in Madhya Pradesh," Singh told reporters here.

The Chief Minister should also tell if the Rangdari Tax was mentioned in the state budget and the banks in which money collected under it was deposited, he said.

The Congress General Secretary said that it must also be explained if any approval was taken from the assembly for the imposition of the Rangdari Tax.

When pointed out that the Chief Minister had advocated not giving jobs to Biharis in Madhya Pradesh, Singh said Chouhan had later on retracted his statement.

"What Chouhan says in Satna, he denies in Indore and hence I urge you not to take him seriously these days," he said.
