Ranchi: Jharkhand Assembly was on Saturday
rocked over corruption charges made by the opposition with the
government arguing that charges alone do not make any body
guilty.
"Merely hurling charges won't make an official guilty.
The government is very serious on dealing with corruption
issue and will deal as per law," Deputy Chief Minister
Raghuvar Das said.
"You can't exert pressure on the two-month-old
government...it was during the three years of UPA regime that
corruption was entrenched in the state," Das said.
Dissatisfied with the reply, the opposition trooped to
the Well demanding removal of such officers on whose premises
were raided by Income Tax department had allegedly unearthed
crores of rupees.
Speaker C P Singh had to adjourn the House twice as
the opposition raised slogans, demanding resignation of the
government and aired some names of officials facing
corruption charges.
