Jamshedpur: At least eight labourers were
today injured, one of them seriously, when a cable burst in a
mini plant in East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.
The power cable, illegally wired with a transformer to
supply electricity to Himadari Steel Private Ltd at Chakulia,
suddenly exploded injuring eight labourers, Sub-Divisional
Police Officer (Ghatsila), Anup Birtheray said.
JMM MLA Bidyut Baran Mahto, however, claimed at least
11 labourers were injured in the explosion and seven of them
were being brought to Tata Main hospital here. Four of the
injured were shifted to a hospital in Dalbhumgarh, he said.
The owner of the factory did not inform police about the
incident. Strict action will be taken against the rolling mill
owner as well as officials concerned of Jharkhand State
Electricity Board, Birtheray said.
