Patna: A day after lashing out at the Shiv Sena and the MNS for attacking north Indian migrants in Maharashtra, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said he would not remain silent if Indians are attacked anywhere in their own country.

“I am not interested in what Thackerays say; I’m interested in only one concept. That India belongs to every Indian, that every part of India belongs to every Indian,” Rahul, who is on a two-day visit to Bihar, told a press conference.

He added that “the people from Bihar and UP have the right to go anywhere in country… I’m not going to remain silent if people are attacked in their country”.

Rahul, who had said yesterday that the NSG commandoes who killed terrorists during the Mumbai attacks in November 2008 included men from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, repeated his remarks today and asked: “Why didn’t (Uddhav) Thackeray asked NSG commandoes from Bihar and UP during the 26/11 attacks to go back?”

Reacting to Rahul’s remarks, Uddhav today wrote in the Sena mouthpiece Saamana that the Congress leader’s comments are an insult to the 26/11 martyrs.

‘Nitish govt a failure’

Meanwhile, focusing on his ‘Bihar mission’ Rahul lashed out at the Nitish Kumar government for failing to implement welfare schemes of the Centre in the state.

“Nitish Kumarji’s intentions are good, but his government has failed badly in the implementation” of schemes, Rahul said.

The change that Bihar needs is not happening, the Congress’ ‘prince’ added.

He refuted the charge of bias against Bihar and said there was no lack of assistance to Bihar from the Centre. In fact, the Congress-led UPA government has given more money to Bihar than the NDA, he added.

“NREGA money is not reaching the end user here… middlemen are siphoning the money. Even money meant for education is not reaching the schools in villages,” he rued.

He even attacked the Nitish government for failing to effectively utilise the Kosi flood relief central assistance of Rs 1,000 crore, saying a lot of it didn’t reach the affected people.

Commenting on the price rise, Rahul said it was mainly due to two reasons: One, international events, and second, hoarding.

Checking hoarding is a state government’s responsibility, in which they have failed badly, Rahul told reporters.

It is good to find some one like Rahul speak up for national issues, at a time when regionalism is on the rise thanks to local chieftains who play up parochial sentiments. I think we should allow sincere people a bit of freedom to raise issues at appropriate times so long as the issues are not diluted. There is no need to heckle them. After all it would not have served the national cause by letting regional dons come to power there. I feel Bihar Election is the right time to talk about migration issue. Let us not hurl idealism, when the solutions beckon a practical approach. When the entire system is so imperfect, it is important to let sincere people have enough maneuverability.

Why these comments are coming so late as you are in Patna, Bihar? Is it as the elections here are close and that you had to face black flags and outrage of students there.? Why this duplicity by the the congress as a whole? Actions in Mumbai are in the hands of congress only as the govts. in the centre and state are under congress rule. Where were you Mr. Rahul when so much happened last year with MNS.?There is no clear policy of the congress except that how to fool the public.

With Bihar elections round the corner all noises about nationalism is being cried out. It has taken a long time for Rahul to realise that the entire nation belongs to Indians and that they can stay and earn wherever they want. Dear what about J & K. Those people can stay and buy anything in India but non J & K people cannot buy a piece of land in J & K. Rahul if you are sincere then turn this around and we can call u as proud Indian and not half Inidan or half Italian. Do not talk about Indianism with the elctions in mind. As regards Thackreys with no issue around they have turend to their pet Marathi manoos. They should realise if Mumbai is regarded as indian financial capital and is regarded so by etire world community, it is because of combined efforts of all Indians including Maharashtrians. Maharashtra has a rich culture and other states too need to learn from that. We all Hindus start with Ganapathy and India too starts from Mumbai. Raj and Uddhav , you need to channelise your young energy to a positive one and don get succumbed to Congress designs of divide and rule policy. Protect other Hindu brethern also. Let Mumbai be not held to ransom by any politician.

Rahul Gandhi abhi bachcha hai. Aur adhik kachcha. He should have known that his ancestors J. Nehru, Indira Gandhi and his father Rajiv Gandhi made sure that no Indian outside Kashmir can posess or buy land in Kashmir. Then how can he claim that every inch of India belongs to all Indians? This is then the oppotunity to ask Rahul bachcha to abolish that article 370!! Please ask him whether he`s ready to get rid of that article.

Why it took Rahul such a long time to say about what he has said about Nation. Though he may appear to be saying the right thing but for these politicians it is the political compulsion to say what is required to be said and not the righteousness of it. Upcoming elections in Bihar and UP have made them say this. Tomorrow for Mumbai`s election they would say something else.
Now you would see BJP/SP/BSP all towing the same line.
